A 'Leap Year' occurs every four years.
To find a Leap Year, the year number must be divisble by '4'.
2020 / 4 = 505 so is a leap year.
2021 / 4 = 505.25 So NOT a leap year
2022 / 4 = 505.5 So not a leap year
2023 / 4 = 505.75 ~So not a leap year
2024 / 4 = 506 - so is a leap year.
et.seq.
NB The Earth orbits the Sun in 365.24 days. The ' -.24' is nearly a quarter of a day. So four quarters makes one whole day, so that one whole day is added every four years. However, the '-.24 - -0.25 = 0.01 ' So there is still a one hundredth of a day to account for. This is 14.4 minutes, so about once every 25 years a leap year is missed in order to account for this differential.
Remember the old verse:-
Thirty days hath September ,
April, June and November.
All the rest have thirty one,
Excepting February alone,
Which has 28 days clear,
And 29 days each Leap Year.

A year on Earth is about 365.24 days long. Most years are 365 days, and leap years have 366 days.
Most of the time, a year is 365 days. Leap years contain 366 days.
The exact length, in days, of Earth's true sidereal orbital period is 365.256366 (364 and 1/4 ) days or 1.0000175 years. As this is not a whole number of days, our Earth calender is arranged to have normal years and leap years. We make a normal year have 365 days and a leap year have 366 days. We arrange it so that a leap year happens every 4th year so that extra day makes up for the four 1/4 days we need make the orbit position the same over time.
Winter. And also the Christmas season, Hanukkah, new years and every four years leap year in February.
