Abraham, of the Bible; great ancestor to the Israelites and Muslims was asked by God to offer his only son as a sacrifice and Abraham obeyed. God stopped him at the last minute by sending an Angel to hold Abraham's hand back from actually killing his son. Because God was only using it as a test and does not like human sacrifice at all. Abraham passed the test and was also very glad for it as well. It certainly pained him to think that he would have had to kill his own child. But God provided a ram to take his son's place. Just as Christ took all mankind's place on the cross for all our sin. This is why we can go to heaven when we die if we will only believe and trust in Christ as our Savior as He has paid our sin debt and we need do nothing else in order to save our souls; God has already done it for us. We need only make a choice.

The Israelite firstborn were spared by God (Exodus ch.11-12). Only the Egyptian firstborn were smitten by God's plague (ibid). See also:The Exodus
No god told Moses to tell Pharaoh that he should free gods people first.
I would say that God has many sons, however God speaks mostly about his firstborn son - an entire nation of people. God's firstborn son, are the descendants Abraham, through his son Isaac and his son Yacob, whose name was changed to Israel. His descendants became known as the Israelites - God's firstborn son. Proof of this is found in the book of Exodus. When God spoke to Moses, he referred to the Israelites as his firstborn son: "Again God said to Moses "Now that you are going back to Egypt, be sure to perform before Pharaoh all the miracles which I have given you the power to do. But I will make Pharaoh stubborn and he will not let the people go. Then you must tell him that I God, say 'Israel is my firstborn son. I told you to let my son go, so that he might worship me, but you refused. Now I am going to kill your firstborn son." (Exodus 4:21-23).

Yes. And according to this Scripture, where 'the invisible God' is one with the Holy Spirit, and the 'who' is Jesus, you can see he is the firstborn. Colossians.1.15. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Jesus is also, 'the firstborn from the dead', as this Scripture shows. Colossians 1.18. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all [things] he might have the preeminence.

The last plague was when God smote the Egyptian firstborn.
First, both Jews and Christians agree that Jews were not among those smited in the Exodus' tenth plague because of the Pascal Sacrifice. Jews claim that God himself descended and smote the Egyptians. As there is no partition or Trinity in Judaism, God's act is inseperable from the rest of God's acts. Jesus, being wholly irrelevant to Judaism, features no role in this story. Christians typically also ascribe this act to God the Father (or God the Father through the Angel of Death), rather than the Son since the Son was in holy communion with the Father until the time of his incarnation at conception. Relevant verse, citation (NIV): Exodus 12:29: 29 At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.
The event in question is commonly referred to as the "Passover." According to biblical accounts, it involved God passing over the houses of the Israelites and sparing their firstborn sons, while the houses without the blood of a sacrificial lamb on the doors experienced the death of the firstborn.
