The most common would be the American Quarter Horse, Arabian, Thoroughbred, American Paint, Appaloosa, Morgan, European Warmbloods (several different breeds with registries in European countries) American Saddlebred, Draft breeds (Shire,Belg.Clyde.ect). Of course there are hundreds of breeds of domestic horses throughout the world today but these are some of the most commonly owned.
The United Kingdom
It would take a long time to explain exactly who held what before World War 1 began, but the continent of Africa was almost completely divided and owned by the European countries. Several European countries, along with the US and Japan, maintained a presence in China, and the British held India. The Ottoman Turkish Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire were in decline, but they still held territory in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
