The cover looks a lot like the work by US painter Morris Louis. It certainly has a lot of similarities with his painting Alpha-Pi (which is shown in the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York). I think Morris Louis also painted a couple of similar works, so the cover might be derived from that one. If it is indeed based on an (excerpt of an) art work, it's quite peculiar that no credits were stated in the booklet of the album.
