The King in "The King and I" from the 1950's was Yul Brenner. He was an attractive leading man who shaved his head for the role and became so popular for the look that he used it for the rest of his life. He died of lung cancer and made prevention commercials before he died of the disease.
That would be the King of Siam as portrayed by Yul Brynner in The King and I.
