If the Deputy Speaker is also unavailable, the President of India may appoint a member of the Lok Sabha to preside over the session. The Speaker of the Lok Sabha presides over joint sitting sessions of Parliament in India. In the absence of the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker can take on this role.
