Kings County Research Laboratories, Inc. was a private clinical medical laboratory once located in Brooklyn, NY. Blood, urine and other body fluid tests were performed for patients of private doctors' practices. It pioneered many of the practices and procedures typical of today's modern clinical laboratories.
It was purchased by Hoffman-LaRoche in the early 1970's and its operation was moved to their location in Nutley, NJ. This author is not aware of the purchase price.
Its original location was on 8th Ave. & Sterling Pl. in Brooklyn. That location was destroyed in 1960 by falling parts of a commercial airliner involved in an in flight collision with another airplane. A new facility was constructed and opened at 21st. St. & 6th Ave. in Brooklyn where operations continued until its sale and closure.
