Who said Universe is god and god is the universe?

Steven Hawking, theoretical physicist and atheist was quoted as saying "God is the Universe and the Universe is God". Hawking also said "The question is: is the way the universe began chosen by God for reasons we can't understand, or was it determined by a law of science? I believe the second." He adds, "Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing."

Dear rather than getting yourself in such confusing state, its better to just devote yourself to almighty GOD, your statement is self contradicting, in case if u get your answer will you stop believing God and start believing in that thing..?? Its God itself who said this thing, entire universe exist on the wish and will of God, nobody tell that Universe is God...... Its God itself is The Universe.
