no one did. A man does not have to be circumcised before he can become a Christian . As a mater of fact according to the fable, Paul, one of the originators of the christian of-shoot of Judaisms gentiles need not be circumcised if they embrace the beliefs as described in the New Testament. It refers to circumcision of the Soul. This was most likely introduced into the religion as many people would be loath to mutilate their genitals for the sake of a religion. The Jews had it forced on them at age 8 days but the new Christians would have had to have it done willingly as adults.

Some early Jewish Christians, such as those in the Jerusalem Council as recounted in the Acts of the Apostles, believed that circumcision was necessary for male converts to Christianity. However, this belief was later challenged by apostles like Paul who argued for a more inclusive understanding of faith in Christ.

Is permanent retraction of the foreskin as an alternative to circumcision valid in Islam?

A person who could permanently retract his foreskin is deemed to be naturally circumcised and need not be circumcised ! Although circumcision is an integral part of Islam, there are exceptions to those individuals who could not be circumcised as the operation if carried out might be harmful to them or might jeopardise their health. Among these categories of people include the disabled, infirm, those suffering from chronic illnesses eg:haemophillia or those born naturally circumcised( with little or no foreskin) or become naturally circumcised later owing to the onset of puberty where the foreskin shortens to the extent that it becomes permanently retracted behind the head thus exposing the head.

If not circumsized it could be build up under the foreskin if you are not pulling back enough. If circumcised, possibly an infection. You should probably see someone about it before it possibly becomes serious.

What did Saint Peter and Saint Paul disagree about?

Peter felt that Gentiles could not become Christians unless they were first converted to Judaism and followed Judaic law. This included men having to be circumcised. Paul disagreed with this. Finally they came to an agreement that Gentiles did not have to become Jews and could be baptized directly. They were only to abstain from any pagan practices they might have had in the past.

Was Paul under the leadership of Peter?

Paul always deferred to Peter for major decisions. This does not mean the two did not have disagreements at times. When a question arose about the necessity of Gentiles to be circumcised before they could become Christians, Paul presented his case to Peter against the practice and won. However, it was Peter who ultimately made the decision.
