The point of praying is to bring the power of Spirit into whatever situation you are in. You don't want to have to handle a difficult situation alone. However, there are different types of prayer. If you engage in what I call the begging and pleading form of prayer (God please, please help me) or the negotiating form of prayer (God if you help me, I promise I will _______), you are not likely to achieve good results. The type of prayer which yields the best results is called affirmative prayer. It is when you pray knowing that Spirit has already said yes.
