In my opinion, it was Paul who started the religion of Christianity.
Some are happy to credit Jesus with the origin of Christianity because they claim Jesus commissioned Paul on the road to Damascus to take the religion to the Gentiles.
According to The Bible in Acts 9 - the event on the road to Damascus was uncorroborated vision (dream) by Paul, against statements made by Jesus before his 'death on the cross'. "I have not come to abolish the law", "I was only sent to the Jews".
However, this is one of 33,400 unanswered questions on Jesus/Christianity.
It is not because it is too difficult a question to answer but it is uncomfortable for the adherents of the faith.
Another Answer:
Jesus is the 'foundational stone' who brought the Good News (Gospel) of the Coming Kingdom of God, establishing His Church (called the Church of God in New Testament). He appointed Peter the first leader after His Resurrection. It was called "The Way" and latter becamen known as Christianity:
Matthew 16:18New King James Version (NKJV)18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Jesus Jesus Christ was the beginning of Christianity. Paul tought Christianity after Christ and his appostles were killed off.
No. Without Jesus Christ, there would be no Christianity.
The Lord Jesus Christ, Sts Peter, Paul, & the Apostles.
Jesus never started any church in his lifetime , it was started by Paul.
Jesus came to complete Moses commands. Christianity is developed by paul whih is a controversial subject..! None of the apostle of god started teaching Christianity. It was by a man called Paul.
Paul and John bore witness of Jesus' reality and power by preaching and recording in writing either event's in Christ's life or doctrines of Christianity.
Christianity was founded by a man named Saul, later named Paul and St. Paul. Others argue that Christ was the founder of Christianity, but this is not true. Jesus never called anything Christianity as Paul did when going from city to city spreading the word. He set his life to converting those to the religion he called, Christianity. Throughout Paul's life, relationships, and time period, Paul made himself the founder of Christianity.
To name a few: Christ Jesus himself, of course. The apostle Peter. The apostle Paul.
Paul's mission was to preach the gospel to the non Jewish nations. The death of Jesus Christ as a propitiation for sin made Christianity different from Judaism. Paul just preached this.
Let memake a point clear Jesus was a jewish man. Christianity came much later after Jesus died and even arose from the cross. Christianity was started mainly by Paul later on.
Paul played a significant role in spreading Christianity beyond its Jewish roots to non-Jewish (Gentile) populations. He emphasized the universal message of the faith and helped establish the early Christian church as a distinct, inclusive community that welcomed people from all backgrounds.
Paul mentions Jesus Christ's name 230 times in the Bible.
