in 1849 , Elizabeth Wingfield went camping. she walked down a log that which extended ininto the water. Then Elizabeth slipped off the log and landed into the lake. Although she wasn't hur, many people noticed her stumble and so they named the lake after her calling it The Lake Elizabeth
