A person that questions whether President Obama was born a US citizen.
A birther is a person who gives birth, or a pejorative term for a person who believes that Barack Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States and is therefore ineligible for presidency.
A "birther" is someone who believes that President Obama was not actually born in the United States and, therefore, is ineligible to be President.
While this could be a "birther" question (19% of Americans continue to believe the president was born in a foreign country; he was not-- he was born in Hawaii), it could also be a very real travel question. President Obama first visited the country of his father's birth in the late 1980s, but due to instability in Kenya, he has not visited recently. He has said he would like to see his relatives, but he will undoubtedly wait until after his presidency to do so.
I assume this is a hypothetical question, because President Obama's mother is dead, and has been dead for years. If this is a "Birther" question (did she secretly fly to America from Kenya and give birth to him), the answer is no she did not fly to America and give birth to him. She had never been to Kenya. President Obama's mother gave birth to him in a hospital in Honolulu, the city where she was living at that time. But if this is a question about today: could a woman in her third trimester be allowed on a plane, generally, the answer is yes, although some airlines ask for a doctor's assurance that the person is able to travel.
He's a Birther.
You may be referring to Sarah Obama, who is not really the president's biologically grandmother, but was sometimes called "Granny Sarah" in Barack's family. The president's actual paternal grandmother is Habiba Akumu Obama. The reason many people ask about Sarah, however, has to do with a Birther myth that she said Barack was born in Kenya. She did not say that. The link that refutes this myth is enclosed.
obama started college in 1979 :D
Barack obama.
No. Although there have been dozens of suits filed claiming Obama is not a natural born citizen, the President's legal team has handled the situation for him. So far, all cases have been dismissed for lack of standing and failure to state a plausible claim. Many of the judges have openly labeled the birther suits frivolous.
Never, since the president is in fact a U.S. citizen, and the Supreme Court has turned away "Birther" cases on a number of occasions. There is an internet myth that Justice Scalia is going to rule on this issue any day now, but the myth has been circulating since 2008 and Justice Scalia, along with the other justices on the court, does not have any interest in Birther claims, all of which have long since been refuted.
