According to the Cherokee Nations website there are 30,000 people fluent in Tsalagi. This number is outdated and increasing as time goes by as the Cherokee have instituted a school program to re-teach the language to Cherokee students. Fluent means a full ability to speak the language and concepts, in at least 1 dialect.
