Columbus never landed anywhere on the North American continent. In the time of his explorations the United States did not exist and would not for another 290 years. He made 4 trips landing on South and Central America on the last two. His first landing was on an island in the current Bahamas. He named it San Salvador. The exact island is not known but one has been chosen to carry the name.He refused to believe that he did not find India. This is why the continents are named after Amerigo Vespucci************* former answer below******No he did not. He only landed in the Caribbean.
