It changed to a plc first then was bought out by Barclays in around 2000 they only wanted it because Woolwich plc had the best mortgage deal the 'Open Plan Account' Woolwich I believe had trademarked it and no one else could use this - I worked at their HQ until 2002 most of their operations were moved to Dartford - its been crap ever since Barclays took over lol
