There is no city or town in Massachusetts named Greenland. However, in the next state, New Hampshire, there is a town by that name. Perhaps you are thinking of some of the explorers who came to the New World-- Leif Ericson, for example: he discovered Greenland (the country) and then traveled to what is today North America, but he landed in Canada, rather than Massachusetts.
Henry Hudson lived from 1570-1611 and went on four major voyages. On his first voyage he traveled from England to the North Pole. On his second voyage he traveled from England to Novaya Zemiya, just south east of the North Pole. On his third voyage he traveled from England to Bermuda. On his fourth voyage he traveled from England to Iceland, then Greenland then into the modern Hudson Bay.
Henry Hudson traveled across the Atlantic Ocean. He passed through the southern tip of Greenland into a narrow water way that is today known as the Hudson Strait. This journey took Henry and his crew to an area of water that is know named Hudson Bay. They traveled south into James Bay.
Greenland is not in a region. Greenland is in the territory of Denmark. There are many regions in Greenland.
Leif Erikson traveled to North America because his father had been exiled from Iceland, and his father (Eric the Red) took his wife, his children and his slaves to Greenland with him.
