Akhenaten was a famous Egyptian Pharaoh. His parents were Amenhotep the third and Tiye. He ruled during the eighteenth dynasty of the Amarna period of ancient Egyptian history. One of his major roles in antiquity was his attempt to change the national religion of ancient Egypt, as this was a period in history where the king told you what to believe.
