David was the youngest son of Jessie he was chosen by Saul and since his being chosen the spirit of the Lord was upon him. He defeated Goliath a Philistine by killing him with stones then cutting off his head. Read the story of David in 1 Samuel starting at the 16th chapter. It's awesome reading.
