The Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesley (Anglo-Irish), commanding the Army of Flanders - comprising British, Dutch, and German regiments, and Gebhardt Blucher, commanding the Prussian Army of the Northern Rhine, defeated Napoleon's Army of the North at the Battle of Waterloo, after both armies had suffered separete defeats earlier in the campaign. Napoleon escaped but his army was destroyed, and he would soon surrender aboard a Royal Navy frigate. The other factions of the Seventh Coalition provided little assistance because they delayed mobalization and were unable to raise significant troops when Napoleon invaded Belgium, where Wellington and Blucher were stationed.

There are many candidates for that honor, but Napoleon received his first sound beating in a land battle which he commanded at Liepzig. After returning from Russia, the remains of his Grand Armee were defeated by the combined armies of Russia, Prussia, Austria, Sweden, and Saxony. Marshal Blucher commanded the Prussians, and two years later he and the Duke of Wellington joined forces to finish Napoleon forever.
