∙ 9y agoSir France Drake raided Spanish colonies around the world in his ship, 'The Golden Hind'. He also fought against the Spanish Armada. The Spanish consider him to be a pirate but this is not strictly true, he was a was a privateer, operating in the interests of England against Spain and with official papers. He was feared and is still hated by the Spanish and his name means or sounds like "dragon" in Spanish.
