He then had relations with Hippolyta (or Antiope) and had a son, Hippolytus.
When she died, he married Ariadne's younger sister Phaedra, who was in love with his son. His son was disgusted with her when he found out, and Phaedra killed herself when she found out, but made it look like Hippolytus raped her. When Theseus found out, he killed his son. When he was about to die, Artemis came to Theseus and told him the truth. He was cursed.
