Syed abdul ghaffar was the comander in chief during the war,he was well expeirinced & senior person who was actually from arcot kingdom who was brought to mysore by tipu sultan after arcot war,the trecherous elements from mysore planned his primary killing in war along with british so as to achieve & defeat tipu,the trecherous people showed the green umbrella on his head inorder to show his identity to british so as to shoot him immediately,thus syed ghaffar was martyred in the war loosing a gate who was very strong.
