Doeg HaAdomi (the Edomite) is mentioned in 1 Samuel ch. 21 and 22, and Psalms 52. He was the chief of King Saul's herdsmen. In an act born of jealousy (or of over-zealous loyalty to Saul), he slandered David in front of Saul, and (as a result) caused the death of tens of pious Kohanim (priests).
