Bobby Beausoleil. He was arrested driving Gary Hinman's car. The police discovered a knife in the car and blood on Beausoleil's clothes.

Different cities and juridictions. I believe it was the L.A. Sheriff's Dept. that had contacted city police thinking that the Hinman murder was connected to the Tate-LaBianca murders. They were scoffed at. Months later some Einstien finally put them together but a lot of time was wasted. There was a message written in Hinman's blood at the crime scene and other similarities, that could have easily hooked it to the later killings. But despite the 'bumps' in the road to justice, it finally did prevail.
Susan Atkins, (died of brain cancer in 2009), Patricia Krenwinkle, Leslie Van Houten, Charles 'Tex' Watson and of course Charles Manson. *Bobby Beausoleil was arrested prior to the above family members for the murder of music teacher Gary Hinman. Hinman's murder preceeded the Tate-LaBianca killings by several weeks and was initially not associated with other Manson family murders. All of the above mentioned Manson family members have requested parole numerous times and all attempts have been refused by the California Parole Board.
Manson was convicted of the Tate-LaBianca murders which occured on August 8 and 9, 1969. He also ordered the killing of music teacher Gary Hinman but I have never heard if charges were ever brought against him for Hinman's murder. Manson and his 'family' are suspected in many more killings but with many there is a lack of evidence, some there is a lack of a body. People that crossed Manson's path many times just disappeared.
it's not the murder capital of the WORLD.

He ordered the deaths of Gary Hinman, the Tate-LaBianca murders, John 'Shorty' Shea, attorney Ronald Hughes, and a few others that narrowly escaped with their lives. There is one more, that many people forget about, that is Paul Polanski, Sharon Tate's unborn child. After the murder of Laci Peterson in Modesto, California, President Clinton signed into law making it murder to kill the mother causing the infant to die.
Yes Gary Coleman's wife was accused of murdering him because she did not love him and she had alot of issues and BAM! She striked out and pushed him down the stairs.
