Hence

Add the logs.
2.09149 + 0.42651 = 2.518
Anti log ( 2.518) = 329.60971
This compares favourably with direct multiplication at 329.6115
You can use logs for division too!!! Except that you subtract the log values.

You can also change the log. bases using the formula
log(a) b = log(c)b / log(c)a. , where the base is changed from 'a' to 'c' ; '10' to 'e' on a calculator.
