∙ 13y agoGeneral Rommel was recovering from wounds at home. He was approached by the plotters to join in but he refused. However, for his failure to inform Hitler, he was given a choice: take poison and get a state funeral, or refuse and see your family executed as well. Rommel took poison.
Von Stauffenberg was the one who detonated the bomb and was executed at midnight. In the meantime, families of the plotters were either sent to concentration camps or commit suicide. While the plotters themselves were placed on meat hookers.

Rommel was targeted by Hitler for death by suicide because he knew about the plot to assassinate Adolph Hitler. He never approved of it, but was advised that an attempt was to be made on Hitler's life. Rommel's crime was his silence on the matter. He was given a heroes funeral in Berlin by Hitler.
