There were many hundreds officers, soldiers, business men, and others in power punished after the second world war for what are called war crimes.
There were many others "punished" by mobs for helping the invaders.
This happened in virtually every country and area that the war took place.
An easy area to look up would be Germany and the Nuremberg Trials.
