Darlene and David never had a child; rather, Darlene and Mark had achild. Although the baby nearly died, it did survive. Darlene was never even with David, and Becky was never with Mark;it was the other way around. This is all explained at the end of the series finale, " Intothe Good Night (Part …2)". "When Becky brought David home a few years ago, I thought, 'This iswrong; he's much more Darlene's type.' ... When Darlene met Mark, Ithought he went better with Becky. ... I guess I was wrong. But, Istill think they'd be more compatible the other way around; so, inmy writing, I did what any good mother would do: I fixed it. ... And then Darlene had the baby, and it almost died..." --Roseanne, Season 9, Episode 24, " Into the Good Night (Part 2)" Actually Darlene and David were a couple. Mark is David's olderbrother and married to Becky, Darlene's older sister. Darlene andDavid got married because she was pregnant and then the baby almostdied, but to answer the question...yes the baby survived. (This wasretconned in the final episode of Roseanne, 'Into that Good Night'.Roseanne was writing a book based on her life and changed somestuff around. Because she thought David was Darlene's type ratherthan Mark, in the book she made it that David and Darlene were acouple who had a baby together. Darlene and Mark were actually acouple and it's assumed the baby that almost died was Mark's. Thisis all mentioned in the comment above.) ( Full Answer )

It was all a dream. They didn't win the lottery.. --Edit (from someone else): After Dan's heart attack at Darlene's wedding, he really died. After that, everything was apart of Roseanne's book that she was writing in the basement. (lottery, dan cheating on her, etc.) She was so heartbroken after Da…n died, she would have rather said he cheated on her than died. The last episode is her writing all this in her book. It ends with her finishing her book, getting up, taking one last look at the basement, turning off the light and closing the door. It was a very emotional Roseanne. ( Full Answer )

The character "Becky" was played by two different actors. Sarah Chalke was one of them, who can be seen on "scrubs". Somewhere in the 3rd or 4th season of roseanne, the original actress who played becky decided to leave the show and they replaced her with Sarah chalke. And then like a season later, …the original girl that played becky decided to return to the show. No clue, why Sarah chalke gave up her role. ( Full Answer )

yes, dan did die, though it wasn't revealed until the last show in the last season dan has a heart attack at darlene and david's wedding, but he pulls through. then after they win the lottery he goes off to California to get his mother better help (she is crazy). when he comes back it is revealed …that he had an emotional affair (not a physical affair). He and Roseanne almost divorce. but then darlene's baby girl almost dies and the family rallies around her, bringing dan and roseanne back together. then on the series finale, we find out that the whole show has been a story about their life that roseanne is writing, and that she has bended the truth to make it happier. Not only do we find out that it wasn't roseanne's mother bev who was gay, but her sister Jackie, and that the daughters boyfriends were switched around because roseanne felt it was a better match (so darlene wasn't really with david but with mark, and becky wasn't with mark but david) but we also find out that dan had died from the heart attack he suffered at darlene's wedding. she made up him cheating on her because she felt that he had betrayed her by dying, and thought it was comparable to him leaving her for another woman. she then made them get back together during their grand daughters crisis because that was when she finally stopped mourning the death of dan and started living again for her family. Winning the lottery was also fake, and as the show ends, roseanne walks out of the basement (her writing room) and sits on their old couch, in the prelottery living room, without dan. ( Full Answer )
