I Hate to say it this way, but they said he was guilty because it was an all-white jury and Tom Robinson was a black man. Some believe they said it out of revenge for Atticus Finch proving the guilt of the white family instead of Robinson, but the real reason is simply that they couldn't see past their own noses, as it were, and decided to take the word of a white man and woman over the facts.
