This was the Conservative Andrew Bonar Law, who was only in office for seven months, from23rd October '22 to 20th May '23. He became Prime Minister as a result of a decison by the Conservative Party to withdraw from the Coalition Government headed by David Lloyd George, which had been in office since outbreak of WW1.
However, he resigned due to ill-health in May 1923 and died in the November of that year, aged 75.

Conservative Andrew Bonar Law in 1922. The Liberal Party had split into two factions during 1918 and Lloyd George led one of these factions after the 1918 election, but his 'National Liberal' section of the party was in effect dominated by the Conservatives, with whom they sat in coalition. Bonar Law argued against a continued coalition with Lloyd George's Liberals after disagreements over reform split the coalition, and he replaced Austen Chamberlain as Conservative Party leader and David Lloyd George as Prime Minister in October 1922 after lack of support from the Conservative wing of the coalition effectively forced them into resignation.
