Since 2009, the Director-General of UNESCO has been Irina Bokova of Bulgaria.
As of my last knowledge update in October 2023, the Director-General of UNESCO is Audrey Azoulay, who has held the position since November 2017. UNESCO does not have a president; rather, it is governed by the General Conference and the Executive Board, with the Director-General serving as the chief administrator. For the most current information, please refer to UNESCO's official website or recent news sources.
