George Wallace (born August 25, 1919 in Clio, Alabama; died September 13, 1998 in Montgomery, Alabama) succeded Albert P. Brewer, in his second term as the forty-fifth Governor of Alabama, serving between January 18, 1971 and January 15, 1979, including the whole of 1976.
