Following the end of Stanford's term as Governor, Robert Taylor Jones (born February 8, 1884 in Rutledge, Grainger County, Tennessee; died June 11, 1958 in Phoenix, Arizona) became the sixth Governor of Arizona, serving between January 2, 1939 and January 6, 1941.
