Colcord (born April 25, 1839 in Searsport, Maine; died October 30, 1939 in Carson City, Nevada) succeeded Frank Bell as the seventh Governor of Nevada, serving between January 5, 1891 and January 7, 1895. Following the end of Colcord's term as Governor, John E. Jones (born December 5, 1840 in Montgomeryshire, Wales; died April 10, 1896) became the eighth Governor of Nevada, serving between January 7, 1895 and his death.
