Following the end of Williams' term as Governor, Erastus Fairbanks (born October 28, 1792 in Brimfield, Massachusetts; died November 20, 1864 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont) became the twenty-first Governor of Vermont, serving between October 1852 and October 1853.
