Reynolds as the thirty-seventh Governor of Wisconsin, serving between January 4, 1965 and January 4, 1971. Following the end of Knowles' term as Governor, Patrick Joseph Lucey (born March 21, 1918 in La Crosse, Wisconsin) became the thirty-eighth Governor of Wisconsin, serving between January 4, 1971 and July 6, 1977.
