Akbar (1556-1605) became the third Emperor of the Mughal dynasty on Feb 14, 1556, at the age of thirteen, when his father Humayun died of an accident. Bairam Khan was his guardian till 1560.
Bairem Khan was the general of the mughal army in the period of Humayun Mirza. Later, he played the role of the regent of young Akbar after the death of Humayun in 1560.
