He then woke up Captain Rostron, who then in turn set coordinates to intercept Titanic as fast as the ship was able. The last known coordinates of the Titanic placed her at 58 miles (93 kilometers) away. Even with heating and water shut off to maximize the Carpathia's speed, it took her 4 hours to arrive.
