When the war started factories started making more war materials and that meant the factories had to hire more people to do all the work to make the materials. When the United states entered the war in 1917 the economy in the whole country went up. When the war ended though people lost their jobs and the economy in the country went down dramaticly. The factories that were making guns during the war were now making type writters and factories that were making bullets were now making something totally different. Since the factorise didnt need as much supplys the workers that were making guns and stuff for the war got laid off because the supply of the guns and other war materials, the people didnt have to make as many of those. also i am EXTREMILY old and i have no kids im writing this.

I have the same problem. Not only, acused me but also trying to have custody of my children. Where she has no Job. The county is expecting me to pay back for sheltering her for about a year and half. Is there any Justice at all? Is this a sex war where men has to suffer because of "woment right?"....does women right has to make men suffer? Did the law even care for men? I am not sure the law is "Right". Because the lawyers I hired are try to tell me the women have absolute right of custody on children. The only thing they allow the men is visiting right. That question is the equivalent of "what do woment want." It's different for every woman. When you get to know a person well enough, you'll know whether she's into you or not and you'll know whether or not you click together. There's no one answer for that. Women are one equation we'll never figure out. Kind of like why are men so obsessed with cars. The answer to that is simple to men, but why should they waste their time explaining that to us women? We'll never understand them anyway. =]

The suffragettes failed to get the vote due to men being belived to be the superior race. It was believed up until 1884 that women were a husbands possesion. Victorian woment were expected to be the 'perfect being' - beautiful, elegant, loving and demure. The suffragetes used many ways to try and get their views across, such as petitions ( for example one in 1866 1500) women signed it and presented it to parliment. Various women society joined together, and called themself the suffragists they proteseted peacefully. They got no where, as they weren't getting attention they were simply brushed under the carpet. Therefore, in 1903 Emmeline Pankhurst formed womens political and social group. They were to be much more militant. Holding mass meetings and disrupting 10 downing street. Although, gaining publicity from their extremist actions, the were loosing support aswell. Simply British culture between 1900- 1914 has always seen men as a dominating race. Politicians of this time that believed women should get the vote, needed to go through bills which were introduced to get them the vote however other MPs, conservatives and house of lords blocked these wishes. It was believed women were ignorant to the parlimentary system, and therefore would make ridiculous decissions. Aswell as being renowed as pure, mens arguement that women would lose there gentle spirit. They thought women should be at home looking after the home and children. Women do not fight it wars, so why should they have a right to vote. If woment which are in the suffragettes get to vote, it would be violent struggle who do vote, not the intelligent women of this time.
