Wrong! EVERY Avatar is the best water bender [and fire, air and earth bender]. It's not just Aang. There was WAY more than one Avatar.
Katara is the best waterbender by the end of the series. Being the Avatar doesn't mean you are the best at bending any single element (although Aang is the best airbender by default). It is enough that the Avatar is the only person alive that can bend all four elements and enter the Avatar state.
Thus, I would classify the Avatar as the best overall bender. Katara is a better waterbender than Aang. She teaches him, she can draw water from any source and she is one of only two bloodbenders. (Even Pakku can't blood bend) She is the most powerful blood bending water master by the end of the series making her the best waterbender.

No one knows for sure. The oldest avatar we see is an unnamed fire nation avatar. This avatar came before Avatar Yangchen.
It is unknown. The last named avatar was a female airbender named Yangchen. But, there was many unnamed avatar statues in the air temple Aang is from.

if you mean in the series, no. the creators of avatar decided to stop making avatar when aang learned all the bending because each chapter is named for the element he is trying to learn. but in theory, yes. after aang dies, the next avatar spirit will be reincarnated into a waterbender.

no because there is no point of making a chapter 22 and if they do they have to delay the time they are casting the movie because they have to make changes so NO And the movie is coming out 2010 summer
