Not a revolution: the Indian Mutiny. In 1857 the army of the East India Company, predominantly native Indian soldiers, was issued with Enfield rifles. To load these, one had to bite the end off a cartridge before poring its contents down the barrel. The cartridges were greased with mutton fat, but a rumour was started that the grease was pig fat (abhorrent to Muslims) or beef fat (forbidden to Hindus). This caused several regiments to refuse the cartridges, and an offer to let the troops grease their own cartridges was taken as an admission that the existing cartridges were indeed tainted. Mutiny became general and many Euopeans of all ages and sexes were massacred. The rebellion was put down by British regiments with great severity, and led to India being governed by Britain rather than by the East India Company for the next century.
Much of the life of an Indian citizen was governed by their caste- or social position. Many were Hindu, and some were Moslem. The rumor began that the bullets of the cartridges were lubricated with beef tallow (fat) or pig fat. Since the cow is a sacred animal in the Hindu religion, and the pig is an unclean animal in the Moslem religion, and the paper cartridges were used by BITING the end off the cartridge (before pouring the powder down the barrel) a rumor began that this was a plan by the English to break the caste of the Sepoys by exposing them to a forbidden practice. The resistance by the Sepoys was poorly handled, and was the start of the "Indian Mutiny". In fact, neither beef tallow nor pig fat was used on the cartridges- but rumors can be very damaging.

I have the right to refuse to serve you.I refuse to follow your advise. The refuse was thrown into the landfill.
Refuse can be a noun OR a verb. Refuse is a verb when you use it as an action. This kind of refuse is defined as "to indicate or show that one is not willing to do something." Example: I refuse to go to that movie. Refuse is a noun when you refer to a pile of trash (synonym for refuse).
The present tense of refuse is "refuse." It remains the same in both present and base form.
