Indy cars still rule in attendance in Indianapolis. the Indy 500 can have up to 500,000 people in attendence. they black out the race in Indiana, so unless you are there you don't know who won until the nightly news. sprint cup gets about 200-250,000. you have to understand that the cup cars go about 45-50 mph slower than Indy cars, so the locals don't like them as much... ive heard them referred to as the nascar turtles. the track is 2.5 miles so when the cars go by, you have to wait awhile for them to come back.
