After death his wife tried to bring him back, but Seth found the body she was trying to resurrect, cut it into pieces and threw them into the nile. When isis found all the pieces she tried to bring him back a second time, and the gods she conspired wtih decided he'd be resurrected to rule "heaven". His son, Horus, was concieved after death and went on to battle with Seth several times to avenge his father.
