Hitler was the founder of the Nazi Party.
Adolf Hitler
Hitler was not the founder of the "Nazis", Anton Drexler was the founder of the German Workers Party DAP in 1919. It wasn't called the "Nazi Party" or "Nazis" either, those were slang and deliberately insulting terms started/used by the English and French (and later the Americans) to degrade the German Workers Movement and anyone who agreed with the movement. The party was renamed the NSDAP in 1920 to appeal to a wider segment of the German people. Hitler became a member in 1920, then shorty left the party, and returned to it in 1921. Hitler actually was never a big believer in party affiliation of any kind and actually wanted to dissolve the party at one point. He also disapproved of the word "socialist" being used to describe the movement, as he was opposed to strict socialism, but he was out voted on both accounts.
