The story goes that an Arab Muslim named Khalid was tending his goats in southern Ethiopia, when he noticed his animals became livelier after eating a certain berry. He then boiled the berries to make the first cup of coffee.
Well, the story of coffee is from Ethiopia, from a goat herd.
The goat herd noticed that his goats were a little on the crazy side, so he decided to watch them.
He quickly learned that the goats were eating the "fruit" off this one bush.
He decided to try it, and learned that it made him feel awake and alert.
He brought some to his priest, and the priest called it "The devil's food", and threw it into the fire.
The smell of the beans arose from the fire....
Well, I'm pretty sure that he must have figured out that putting it in water made a delicious drink.... But I'm not positive.....
