Edwin Hubble, using the Hubble telescope, is credited with the discovery that the distances to far away galaxies were generally proportional to their redshifts (as in the doppler effect); an idea which was originally predicted by Lemaître in 1927. Hubble's observation was taken to indicate that all very distant galaxies and clusters have an apparent velocity directly away from our vantage point: the farther away, the higher the apparent velocity.
Other supportive evidence for the big bang Theory - Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation has been discovered and it is suggested that this has been left over from the Big Bang and galactic clusters are still moving away from each other at an ever increasing acceleration.
Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson, two radio astronomers, accidentally discovered evidence of the Big Bang Theory in 1965. They detected a faint background radiation uniformly spread throughout the universe, known as the cosmic microwave background radiation. This discovery provided strong evidence for the Big Bang Theory and was later awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics.
The red shift doesn't just indicate that there is evidence for the Big Bang theory: the Hubble red shift is evidence supporting the Big Bang theory.

Well I do now one theory about the universe. It's the big bang theory. The big bang theory is a theory about how the universe was created.Scientist think that a big explosion created the universe.Scientist found lots of evidence that the big bang theory was true.

OK, I'll ask. "What is the evidence?"
Edwin Hubble showed that the red-shift of distant galaxies was as predicted by Georges LeMaitre's hypothesis, which was later named the Big Bang.
