Daniel. See the link below.Answer:"Man of desires" does refer to Daniel; however, the phrase cannot be found in many major Bible translations, including the King James, New King James, New International, Standard, New American Standard and Revised Standard versions. It occurs in the Douay Rheims translation (the Catholic Bible), where the word in the original language is translated as a plural noun, "desires," instead of an adjective (as in the other translations), in which form it means, "desirable, pleasant, precious." The use of the noun form is rather misleading. To many, "man of desires" would imply "a man havingdesires;" perhaps even "a man led by desires." If taken incorrectly, this phrase gives a very false impression of Daniel. It is used three times, all in similar context. For the sake of brevity, here is just the first of its three appearances:Daniel 9:23 (Douay Rheims) - From the beginning of thy prayers the word came forth: and I am come to shew it to thee, because thou art a man of desires: therefore do thou mark the word, and understand the vision. It's also used in Daniel 10:11 and 19.Following are the less ambiguous ways the other versions translate the phrase, "...because thou art a man of desires:"King James and Standard versions - "...for thou art greatly beloved:"New King James and Revised Standard - "...for you are greatly beloved;"New American Standard and New International Versions - "...for you are highly esteemed;"These are all clearer, especially to modern readers, than the alternative rendering, "man of desires."
The man is very fortunate indeed.
Throughout the Bible marriage is defined as a union between one man and one woman. Same-sex marriage is not within that definition. We cannot rewrite the Bible and the words of Our Lord to meet our own personal and selfish desires.
This is the biblical way of saying that a person cannot stop his sinful desires and actions. Before a person becomes a christian the bible says he is a slave to sin. The devil is keeping him in chains. It is only Jesus that can free a person and change him so that he will no longer act out those sinful thoughts and desires
