I believe the case of Cheri Jo Bates is included in the list of victims of Zodiac.
When the identity of a person is not known as a fact, anything could be possible. Now, the Zodiac killer connected to the mafia is highly unprovable. The victims had no connection linking them to the mafia and the victims had no motive for the mafia to murder them. The Zodiac killer had a successful serial killer career. Most serial killers who achieved this are functional psychopaths. That gives us another reason, functional psychopaths aren't team players. The Mafia are team players.

no he was to busy killing people to worry about any other then his victims and himself. To me most serial killers did not marry and one of the reasons the Zodiac killer was never caugh was because he blended very well in society which gives a high probability of being married.

there is no such thing as the "Zodiac"!
The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who operated in northern California in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The killer's identity remains unknown. The Zodiac murdered victims in Benicia, Vallejo, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969. There was also a Zodiac killer from New York. His name is Heriberto "Eddie" Seda who struck New York City from 1990 to 1993. Before being caught on June 18, 1996, Seda killed three people and critically wounded four. Seda is believed to have admired San Francisco's Zodiac Killer for avoiding capture. Seda was convicted in 1998, and sentenced to 83 years and 4 months in prison. He will be eligible for parole when he is 113 years old.
Rick Marshall is one of the suspects named in the movie Zodiac (2007), and he was a Zodiac suspect in real life. He shared many characteristics of the Zodiac killer, such as having the same kind of typewriter as the one used by the killer. He once lived in a basement as was mentioned by the killer in one of his letters. One of his favorite movies is mentioned in one of the killer's letters. However, fingerprint analysis, a positive ID by one of the victims identifying another suspect as the killer, and other evidence placed him very low on the list of suspects. He is not an actual character in the movie. His name is mentioned as a suspect, but nothing else is developed.
