The year 2000 was a fight for who would be the first new president of our millenium. The republican running was George W. Bush, and the democrat running was Al Gore. Bush narrowly won the election on November 7th by 5 more electoral votes than Gore.(Bush=271 electoral votes and Gore=266electoral votes)
